What Are You Wearing: The Crown

Hi readers! I am extremely excited for today’s Show Sunday because the topic is my latest television obsession, The Crown.

This shown, based on the life of Queen Elizabeth II, is nothing less than stunning in the costumes department. As I have been binging on the show I have been in awe of the designs that are presented.

The way this post is going to work is I am going to go character by character, showing you my favorite looks.

Now, in the show my fashion icon is Elizabeth’s sister, Margaret. So let’s begin with her (:

My favorite look is one that made me pause the show and gape.

This dress is nothing but perfection. Although there may be some historical inaccuracies involved, just looking at it from a fashion perspective it is nothing but brilliant. In addition, the statement necklace is exactly what is needed with an off the shoulder dress. The fur coat adds more texture and depth to the outfit as well as the dark red lipstick to contrast with the pastel and light colors. Overall, this look was ‘show stopping’. Haha see what I did there (:

Next comes none other than Queen Elizabeth herself.

This dress is featured in episode one and although seemingly boring in comparison to many of Queen Elizabeth’s gowns, this struck my attention. The color of this garment is stunning on her, and the shape is exquisite. As a “casual” look, this really steals the show.

Next, Prince Phillip.

Now me, The White Tee, being a HUGE Doctor Who fan (look at my About page) was literally screaming when I found out that Matt Smith was to play Prince Phillip in the series. Let’s just say, his performance is nothing but incredible as he really shows the public what it was like for a man in that time to have to literally give up everything for the woman he loved. And amidst all of that, he does so looking dapper. This suit, although you can not get a great look at it, is one of the many flattering outfits that is worn in Smith’s wardrobe.

And finally, my honorable mention outfit goes to Queen Elizabeth. This dress is honestly not an honorable mention, it may even beat the one I have placed above.

This dress is nothing short of spectacular. The gown is embellished and draped perfectly and the addition of jewelry makes the entire ensemble more beautiful.

That’s all for this post!! Hope you enjoyed it (: Please feel free to comment below or contact me if you have any business ideas or simply if you’d like to chat!!

Got to go watch some more of The Crown, haha.
